My Take On “My Fertility Crisis”

The reactions of some posters demonstrate that socialized medicine, or socialized anything for that matter, only brings out the worst in people, not the best, thereby changing a society for the worse, rather than better.
Under today’s semi-socialized medicine, where insurance health and medicine medical industries are under heavy government regulation, thus having curtailed free-market function or free choice, people feel strongly about what a stranger does to her body because they have to bear the cost. They get into a woman’s personal life, judge what is worthy and what is not in what she does–all because strangers are forced to connect with one another by this supposedly compassionate system. A woman’s decision to have a child and the way she wants to have a child normally should be nobody’s business but her own and her close relatives’. Now many feel indignant about her private matter because they should not have to pay for the costs.
And what we have is only a semi-socialized medicine. Imagine what would be like when the system is entirely socialized. We care about how long grandpas and grandmas of total strangers would live and have an opinion on what medical treatments are appropriate, not because we care about them, but because we are forced to connect with them by this preposterous system that is supposed to make us all humane, when, on the contrary, it makes us all uncivil and inhumane.
I dread our socialized future!
