Getting a Job

I recently finished high school, and I want to work abroad before I attend college. I told my parents and my plan, and they were not happy. I mentioned that I am single, young woman, and I would like to work in a foreign country. Who knows when I will get the chance again. I mentioned that the local community college offered ESL certification, and I would be paying for it. The only thing I wanted from my parents was their support. They asked how long I would be living aboard, and I said it would be at least one year.
